Kenya has pre-empted the findings of a formal assessment of the performance of the five-year-old East African Community Customs Union and declared itself the greatest beneficiary According to Monique Mukaruliza, the chairperson of the EAC Council of Ministers and Rwanda’s Minister for East African Community, a study to evaluate the implementation and impact of the EAC Customs Union has been finalised and a report is ready for tabling at the Sectoral Council on Trade, Industry, Finance and Investments in June.
